Welcome to our blog! My name is April and on October 19th 2012, I married my best friend Paul for time & all eternity.

It all started when we were both just 16 years old. Yeah, one of those crazy high school romances that actually made it! We went to school together. He baptized me, I sent him off on a mission, we wrote each other, I waited, he came home, we got engaged, and now we're happily married! And for the last 5 1/2 years we've only grown to love each other more and more with every day that passes.

So far, this journey has been so rewarding filled with fun, laughter, and yes even tears here and there. Every moment is worth it. We hope you guys will enjoy taking this journey through marriage and life with us.

1 month

Yeah, that's right. It's been one month (and 1 day :] ) since I married the man of my dreams! Crazy right?!? Right. And we decided that we were going to make it a big deal by celebrating all weekend. Well, more like I decided.

The weekend was packed with a Twilight marathon at our home, actually going to see Breaking Dawn 2 and Paul actually liking it, enjoying a romantic dinner at Macaroni Grill, window shopping at the mall telling each other what we wanted for Christmas, ordering our brand new couches, And then Paul coming home from work early to surprise me with flowers and chocolate and going out to dinner (We had yummy sushi) on our actual one month anniversary. We had a ton of fun and I'm glad we celebrated it. Paul really is such a good husband. Sometimes, I really don't know how he puts up with all my crazy antics but he does and I love him even more for it.

1 month down, Eternity go. Can't wait!

Ensenada & Carnival Inspiration

On the third day we docked in Ensenada, Mexico. Completely different look and feel from Catalina Island. I prefer Catalina a lot more. The last time I went on a cruise with my family to Ensenada it was more busier and there were definitely a lot more people walking around and ships by the port. It was completely dead this time around. We later found out that Carnival was the only cruise line that docked from Long Beach and goes to this part of Mexico anymore. As sketchy as that sounded we were assured that we were still safe to roam around and that nothing would happen to us so we didn't let that ruin our fun day.

We ended up going on a group tour to go see the "La Bufadora" and to do a little bit of shopping at the market. The people at the market are CRAZY!!! Ha I wish that we would have taken a video at all the people trying to sell us stuff because everything was "99% off"....right. Bargaining with them was the best. We also enjoyed some amazing homemade tacos while we were there. Yum!

As fun as Catalina Island and Ensenada was we were ready and excited to spend our last day of the cruise on the actual ship.

The staff was so nice and always willing to help us and direct us to where we wanted to go. We got to enjoy some pretty awesome shows and most of all we were just grateful to finally be able to get some some sun and relax together after our crazy fun wedding.

We were so sad when the time finally came for us to go back to reality and head back home. Paul had never been on a cruise before and this was just my second one. I think it's safe to say that another cruise sometime in the near future is in the works. Caribbean's maybe?? We'll see! I'm also very grateful for the man that I get to wake up to everyday and call my husband. It's been a long time coming and it wasn't always easy but it has been sooo worth it. Now the real fun begins! :)

Bye, bye honeymoon....Hello married life!

We're Married!

Yay! Paul & I have been married for 2 weeks now and so far it has been nothing short of amazing. It really is going by so fast! I still feel like that we just got married yesterday. Paul is the cutest husband ever (Well, at least I think so. I'm sure other women are more biased to their husband which is just fine) and I'm so lucky to have him in my life. Whenever I can get pictures back from the wedding day I'll be sure to post some on here for people to see.

Besides married life being the greatest. We sure do miss soaking in the warm sun during our Honeymoon! We ended up going on a 4 day Carnival cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico.

It sure was a blast. The only down side is that I'm pretty sure we came home a good 6 pounds heavier! Ha ha Paul sure enjoyed the unlimited amounts of food. He also loved dragging me along with him to be his partner in crime. I swear we were at the buffet every hour of the day. I sure am regretting it now, Paul on the other hand flaunts his bigger belly with pride. :)

Aside from all the yummy food and drinks they had onboard the ship one of the greatest things about being on a cruise was being able to visit a different island and different country that we wouldn't be able to see on a normal basis. On the 2nd day of our Cruise the first stop was Catalina Island and boy was it beautiful. For the island being a part of California, it looked more like a picture of Greece. Soo pretty!

We decided to rent a golf cart for the day and drive around the island it was way fun. Paul kept doubting my golf cart driving skills, also he wouldn't look at the map and we ended up not knowing where we were going. So... in this video I'm kind of ticked at him and was being a brat. That little stinker!

After our little feel of the island we waited in line to get back on the ship and shortly there after enjoyed some delicious steak and lobster at Captain's dinner.

As fun as that day and night were, we were even more excited to see Mexico the next day! Stay tuned.

-finally, Mrs. Mayer <3
