Welcome to our blog! My name is April and on October 19th 2012, I married my best friend Paul for time & all eternity.

It all started when we were both just 16 years old. Yeah, one of those crazy high school romances that actually made it! We went to school together. He baptized me, I sent him off on a mission, we wrote each other, I waited, he came home, we got engaged, and now we're happily married! And for the last 5 1/2 years we've only grown to love each other more and more with every day that passes.

So far, this journey has been so rewarding filled with fun, laughter, and yes even tears here and there. Every moment is worth it. We hope you guys will enjoy taking this journey through marriage and life with us.

An amazing 2012!

Sorry this post is a little late and also a little long! Things have been pretty busy in the Mayer house hold since we've been married. We were both so sad to have had to say goodbye to the year 2012. So many great memories were made and I think it's safe to say that for at least me and Paul, 2012 was one of our favorite years ever and here's why....

I'll go back to the very end of Decembember 2011. I had celebrated my very last Christmas without Paul and had the best Skype date:

In January I started off the new year by going back to school with this cute girl:

February Paul & I celebrated our last Valentines day apart:

He still took the time to send me his love though!

March of 2012, Paul FINALLY got his last Christmas package from home that was sent to him 3 months before while I took his dad to go see Jimmer play because he just loves him:

April 2012 I finally turned 21! I also go to run my very first half marathon and loved it!

May 2012, my brother graduated from college. Paul continued to enjoy his last month in
 the Philippines:

June 2012, specifically June 7th 2012 became one of my FAVORITE.DAYS.EVER!
My best friend came home and I got the best hug I've ever gotten in 2 years. The handshake was awkward though for real:

In July 2012 we got engaged:

August 2012 we celebrated Paul's 22nd birthday.
We also got a really amazing photographer to take our engagement pictures:
Check them out at www.lillieandgrace.net
They've got some great deals going on right now.

September 2012 Paul's very first companion from the MTC, Elder Schoorl stopped by for a visit from Oregon. So happy to finally meet him! He's single ladies ;)

October 19th 2012 happened to be the actual BEST.DAY.EVER.....EVER
I got to marry my high school sweetheart and best friend in the SLC temple for time and all eternity. He must love me cause we pretty much got married twice that day :)

In November we celebrated Thanksgiving. And stayed up all night during Black Friday to get these pretty awesome phones for a dollar:

December we celebrated our first Christmas married and finally physically together in 2 years. We also realized how difficult it is to split holidays! Sheesh, good thing both our families live only 2 minutes apart so we can split the holidays with them on the same day. Paul also had to work Christmas morning. LAME right?! So we woke up bright and early to open up our gifts from each other. 5 a.m. to be exact!

And here comes the new year!

As you can see we've been busy!
Even though it's been crazy lately, a few things that we always try to remember
as we go about our days are to always enjoy the journey that life takes us through, to always love one another through the good and bad times and most importantly that FAMILY COMES FIRST. No matter what! I absolutely LOVE & ADORE my husband and am so glad to have gone through all this craziness and happiness with him.
Bring.It.On 2013
We're ready for ya!

1 month

Yeah, that's right. It's been one month (and 1 day :] ) since I married the man of my dreams! Crazy right?!? Right. And we decided that we were going to make it a big deal by celebrating all weekend. Well, more like I decided.

The weekend was packed with a Twilight marathon at our home, actually going to see Breaking Dawn 2 and Paul actually liking it, enjoying a romantic dinner at Macaroni Grill, window shopping at the mall telling each other what we wanted for Christmas, ordering our brand new couches, And then Paul coming home from work early to surprise me with flowers and chocolate and going out to dinner (We had yummy sushi) on our actual one month anniversary. We had a ton of fun and I'm glad we celebrated it. Paul really is such a good husband. Sometimes, I really don't know how he puts up with all my crazy antics but he does and I love him even more for it.

1 month down, Eternity go. Can't wait!

Ensenada & Carnival Inspiration

On the third day we docked in Ensenada, Mexico. Completely different look and feel from Catalina Island. I prefer Catalina a lot more. The last time I went on a cruise with my family to Ensenada it was more busier and there were definitely a lot more people walking around and ships by the port. It was completely dead this time around. We later found out that Carnival was the only cruise line that docked from Long Beach and goes to this part of Mexico anymore. As sketchy as that sounded we were assured that we were still safe to roam around and that nothing would happen to us so we didn't let that ruin our fun day.

We ended up going on a group tour to go see the "La Bufadora" and to do a little bit of shopping at the market. The people at the market are CRAZY!!! Ha I wish that we would have taken a video at all the people trying to sell us stuff because everything was "99% off"....right. Bargaining with them was the best. We also enjoyed some amazing homemade tacos while we were there. Yum!

As fun as Catalina Island and Ensenada was we were ready and excited to spend our last day of the cruise on the actual ship.

The staff was so nice and always willing to help us and direct us to where we wanted to go. We got to enjoy some pretty awesome shows and most of all we were just grateful to finally be able to get some some sun and relax together after our crazy fun wedding.

We were so sad when the time finally came for us to go back to reality and head back home. Paul had never been on a cruise before and this was just my second one. I think it's safe to say that another cruise sometime in the near future is in the works. Caribbean's maybe?? We'll see! I'm also very grateful for the man that I get to wake up to everyday and call my husband. It's been a long time coming and it wasn't always easy but it has been sooo worth it. Now the real fun begins! :)

Bye, bye honeymoon....Hello married life!

We're Married!

Yay! Paul & I have been married for 2 weeks now and so far it has been nothing short of amazing. It really is going by so fast! I still feel like that we just got married yesterday. Paul is the cutest husband ever (Well, at least I think so. I'm sure other women are more biased to their husband which is just fine) and I'm so lucky to have him in my life. Whenever I can get pictures back from the wedding day I'll be sure to post some on here for people to see.

Besides married life being the greatest. We sure do miss soaking in the warm sun during our Honeymoon! We ended up going on a 4 day Carnival cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico.

It sure was a blast. The only down side is that I'm pretty sure we came home a good 6 pounds heavier! Ha ha Paul sure enjoyed the unlimited amounts of food. He also loved dragging me along with him to be his partner in crime. I swear we were at the buffet every hour of the day. I sure am regretting it now, Paul on the other hand flaunts his bigger belly with pride. :)

Aside from all the yummy food and drinks they had onboard the ship one of the greatest things about being on a cruise was being able to visit a different island and different country that we wouldn't be able to see on a normal basis. On the 2nd day of our Cruise the first stop was Catalina Island and boy was it beautiful. For the island being a part of California, it looked more like a picture of Greece. Soo pretty!

We decided to rent a golf cart for the day and drive around the island it was way fun. Paul kept doubting my golf cart driving skills, also he wouldn't look at the map and we ended up not knowing where we were going. So... in this video I'm kind of ticked at him and was being a brat. That little stinker!

After our little feel of the island we waited in line to get back on the ship and shortly there after enjoyed some delicious steak and lobster at Captain's dinner.

As fun as that day and night were, we were even more excited to see Mexico the next day! Stay tuned.

-finally, Mrs. Mayer <3
